Orthopedic Technologist/ Orthopedic Clinic Nurse (Part-Time/Casual)

Guardian Radiology Corporation is accepting positions for Orthopedic Technologist and Orthopedic Clinic Nurse. Part-time/casual positions available. Competitive wages, based on experience.
All experience levels are encouraged to apply. Experience and training in orthopedics is an asset but training will be provided to interested candidate if necessary.

Requirements for interested applicants:

• Registration with Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologists is ideal but not necessary.
• Registered in good standing with CLNPA or CRNA
• Experience within a cast clinic setting is ideal
• Wound care experience is also an asset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work both independently and with in a team
• Able to do critical thinking and decision making with confidence

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Cast application and removal
• Splinting and customization
• Basic and advanced bracing
• Suture/staple removal, dressing applications (including wound VAC) and wound care
• Patient flow management
• Communication/scheduling with clinic, physicians, and diagnostic imaging teams
• Providing patient care advice to patients and families.

The successful candidate will work closely with a group of 3 Orthopedic Surgeons and one family physician providing Orthopedic and MSK care to patients in the Lloydminster area in a cast clinic setting. Training opportunities will be available with funding provided to the right candidate in brace fitting/application and potentially for certification as an Orthopedic Technologist.
